My name is Kathryn Anderson and I lived at home with my mum until she sadly passed away. My three brothers John, Harry and Ed helped me to stay in the family home by coming to stay a week at a time, in turn, to support me.

On the 10th of December 2022, I moved into Glencally. I was anxious but also excited for this to be my permanent home. I have settled in really well and I am thriving here in my new home.

On the big day, my housemates and the staff held a Moving In tea party for me. I was enjoying cakes and prosecco as my brothers moved all my stuff in. Whilst they did all the hard work, I kicked back, relaxed and enjoyed my afternoon tea party with a few drinks.

I spent my first Christmas here not long after I moved in and it was fantastic to spend it with my housemates. My brothers came to visit me and brought me lots of gifts and chocolates.

Me and my pal Paula who also lives at Glencally attend the same college, so we already knew each other and were good friends. Now, we share a taxi travelling to and from the college independently.

I attend Slimming World and go to my personal trainer at Pure Gym once a week, I love doing this and I have already achieved my goal weight.

I have also been on a holiday to Centre Parcs with my housemates and staff. It was so much fun and I had the best time doing different activities. I did archery and crazy golf and each night we dined out in a different restaurant.

My brothers keep in touch and come to visit me regularly. I am loving my time so far. I do my share of the housework and love helping out when and where I can.

I can’t wait for all the exciting times still to come.
